PGS

The mission of the BTI Post Graduate Society is to promote professional development, foster a sense of community, facilitate communication and ensure the representation of Post Docs, graduate students and technicians at BTI.

The PGS carries out its mission through institute support by providing opportunities for the BTI community to interact scientifically and socially and by organizing events that specifically contribute to the professional development of young scientists. Events organized by the PGS are listed below:

Distinguished Lectures

Distinguished Lectures attract top tier scientists from around the world to speak at BTI

Annual Science Retreat

Annual Science Retreat provides the BTI community with one large event that combines three areas for enriching the experience of students, Post Docs and scientific staff at BTI: general scientific seminars, a student / Post Doc / technician poster session and a social gathering.

PGS-sponsored seminars and BTI Fests

PGS-sponsored seminars and BTI Fests cultivate scientific and social interaction and a sense of community within BTI, through scientific seminars that inspire new thinking and debate, and happy hours that provide a casual atmosphere within BTI.

Career Perspectives Seminar Series

Career Perspectives Seminar Series exposes Post Docs, students and technicians to diverse career opportunities open to people with a background in science. This series includes lunch seminars and a large career day that includes a panal discussion.

Professional Development Series

Professional Development Series provides students and Post Docs with an in-house series of lunchtime seminars that aim to strengthen particular skills necessary for professional advancement.

The PGS serves all post-graduates who work in BTI, including technicians, Post Docs and graduate students.
