Plant Biology Summer Internships 2010

The Plant Genome Research Program (PGRP) at the Boyce Thompson Institute, Cornell University and the US Department of Agriculture invites undergraduate and high school students to apply for PGRP summer internships in 2010. Our program offers students the opportunity to work in a vibrant and supportive environment while gaining greater understanding of how plant genomics research is done and its relevance to 21st century issues like improving human health, food and energy security, biotechnology and innovative agriculture.

This program aims to build on student interest, provide students with one-on-one research training and an independent research experience within leading plant molecular biology laboratories. PGRP interns are immersed in all aspects of a life science research laboratory, work closely with senior lab mentors, attend lab meetings, read and discuss recent literature related to their projects, and present their research in our annual PGRP Summer Student Symposium.

Applications are now being accepted and students with genuine interests in plant biology and scientific research are encouraged to apply.

Application Deadline: February 5, 2010.

PGRP summer internships are sponsored by the National Science Foundation is part of the Research Experience For Undergraduates Program.
