Education and Outreach Mission
After School

The Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research is committed to science education and public outreach. Through education we work to bridge the gap between scientific research and application and the public’s awareness and understanding of these processes. Because BTI’s research in plant biology and genetics is ultimately tied to public issues like agriculture, food production, human health, environmental health, and bio-energy we are committed to providing engaging opportunities for people of all ages to understand the science that we do, and its role in many aspects of public life. In addition to connecting science to the everyday lives of people, we aim to inspire the next generation of scientists. To accomplish this mission, we have developed a distinct education and outreach program to serve a diversity of participants:
