Dr. Jim Giovannoni Receives Agricultural Research Service Award

Dr. Jim GiovannoniJim Giovannoni was one of four ASPB members to be honored by awards from USDA’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS).

James Giovannoni, a research molecular biologist at the ARS Plant, Soil, and Nutrition Research Unit based at the Boyce Thompson Institute in Ithaca, New York, was recognized for international leadership on tomato genomics research, including pioneering discoveries in fruit ripening, as well as leadership of tomato genome sequencing efforts. He served as a monitoring editor for Plant Physiology.
