11/15/2009 Postdoc Stephan H von Reuss and graduate students Joshua Judkins and Yevgeniy Izrayelit join the Schroeder lab. Stephan recently finished his PhD at the University of Hamburg. Stephan will be working on identification and synthesis of small molecule metabolites. Josh (B.S. Ohio Northern University 2009) and Yevgeniy (B.A. Vassar College 2006) are first-year graduate students in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell. |

08/01/2009 Postdoc Axel Bethke has joined the Schroeder lab Axel recently finished his PhD with Adam Antebi, director at the new Max-Planck Institute for Ageing in Cologne, Germany. Axel's recent Science paper described the role of a nuclear hormone receptor DAF-12 and micro RNA's for regulating development in C. elegans. |

07/16/2009 NIH grant awarded for the study of chemical communication in nematodes. In collaboration with the labs of Art Edison (UFlorida) and Paul Sternberg (Caltech) we will be studying small molecule-based signaling of nematodes, including the role of pheromones in sex-specific attraction. |

01/01/2008 Postdoc Hanno Andreas Ludewig and graduate student Ry Roger Forseth join the Schroeder Lab Ry Forseth is a first-year graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin/Madison in 2007. Hanno Andreas Ludewig did his graduate studies with Adam Antebi at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin, Germany. Andreas' main responsibility will be developing the C. elegans subgroup in the Schroeder Lab. |
